Looking for 24-Hour Home Care for Your Loved Ones?

North River Home Care provides experienced, personalized, and affordable home care tailored to each client’s needs. Our trusted caregivers work around the clock to keep seniors safe, comfortable, and well cared for 24/7.

In addition to temporary care for an acute illness or post-surgical recovery, we can also provide full-time, 24-hour care that allows seniors to age-in-place, without the need for traumatic transitions into rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, or memory care facilities in Massachusetts.

There is a direct correlation between qualified, in-home 24-hour care and decreased hospital admissions. Those savings, combined with the lower cost associated with home care when compared with other senior living alternatives, make 24-hour home care a safe and appealing alternative to many seniors and their families.

Who Needs 24 Hour Home Care?

There are a variety of reasons why seniors might need 24-hour home care. Some of the most common include:

  • A serious illness that requires nighttime supervision, medication reminders, and support with personal care, meals, errands, and housekeeping
  • Post-surgical recovery instructions that require someone to be present around the clock to support transfers, mobility, personal care, hygiene, etc.
  • Mid- to later-stage dementia or Alzheimer’s
  • Respite care that enables the normal family caregivers the chance to go away for a weekend or a longer-term vacation
  • Supervised recovery from a stroke, heart attack, or another major medical episode

North River helped immensely in taking care of my mother (as I had an immediate need) until I could get her moved into Memory Care. Their employees were kind and compassionate and their services gave me peace of mind. I highly recommend their services.

My wife and I started with North River Home Care back in 2017, and our caregiver Kathy quickly became part of the family. When my wife moved to Memory Care, I kept home care services as much for companionship as help with daily tasks. I've been a client ever since.

Visits from Kathy and our Care Advisor, Jen Davis, are something I genuinely look forward to. They are all wonderfully in tune with my needs, and with others here at Linden Ponds too. That personal touch makes all the difference.

When Kathy recently went on medical leave, North River stepped right up with an excellent replacement with no drop in quality whatsoever. It's clear they set a very high bar when it comes to hiring. Their caregivers are skilled, well-trained, and you can tell they actually enjoy what they do.

North River Home Care is, without question, top notch.

My 94 year old mother returned to her apartment in September 2024 after a fall and time in the hospital and in rehabilitation.    North River Home Care was recommended to us by a person we trusted.  Our experience with North River was excellent from start to finish.  Management was highly responsive, from our first call, and constantly monitored my mother's care.  The aides who were with my mother were all caring, and did a terrific job helping my mother maintain her dignity while assisting with necessary details of life.  My mother responded to this support and gradually grew stronger.  With time we were able to slowly reduce aides services from 24 hours daily to the point that no further assistance was required.  Over a month has passed since then and my mother continues to do very well.  This recovery was in great part the fruit of the caring help and gentle assistance North River provided to her, bringing her back to pretty much as she was and once again walking long distances (no not running but she never did).  .  We are all extremely happy with the support she received from North River for which we remain most grateful.

After our father had experienced multiple hospital stays, we wanted to avoid another rehab facility. We decided to move him back into his assisted living community with a 24hr caregiver. Jen Davis was compassionate and easy to work with. The caregivers were all wonderful, especially Cheryl and Dourina. We used NRHC for 3 weeks and highly recommend this team to other families looking for 24hr care.
Working with Jen Davis at North River has been an amazing experience. They were very helpful and made sure to meet my mom‘s needs and to accommodate her schedule. She really enjoyed her caregiver. Thank you!

North River’s caregivers provided comfort to my father and my family when we really needed it. They emphasized with us and gave us our privacy when we needed it. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help caring for an elderly patient.

The North River Team was excellent while dealing with my parents care. Our Care Advisor Mia met with us and went over all they can do and gave me frequent updates. The home aids were wonderful in dealing with my mother who can be difficult and helped my Dad run errands as well as with hygiene and self-care. When the time comes for more help with my parents home care we will definitely be contacting North River Home Care.

Hiring North River Home Care came at a difficult time. My wife was dying and came home in hospice care. Having good and reliable Home Care assistance was essential to providing round the clock attendance at my wife's bedside. Julia Hawkins was North River's Client Service Manager. She was attentive and helpful describing how Home Care would work when we met in our living room. She was easy to reach by phone subsequently. My wife's home stay lasted two days. The North River Home Care team was here when my wife arrived from the hospital and there were three sequential aides with my wife at all times. My wife died the next day while Luisa, North River's Home Care aide, was caring for her. After the hospice nurse left Luisa provided the care my wife needed allowing my sons, her sister, and me time to sit and grieve together. Luisa was extraordinary. She was there but sensitive to our time and place at my wife's bedside. Luisa's experience and knowledge about care and dying were invaluable. After my wife had died and we had said our good byes Luisa prepared her for the undertakers and allowed us time to be with her for the last time. While our time with North River Home Care was very short, the care and service were necessary, important, and very helpful. I would recommend anyone looking for this kind of support to reach out to North River Home Care.
