At North River Home Care, we believe no family should have to face Alzheimer’s alone. That’s why we’re proud to announce our sponsorship of the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s® in Plymouth, MA, taking place on Saturday, October 24th. We warmly invite you to walk alongside us as we work toward a future free from this disease.
This cause is deeply personal to our team. Every day, we have the privilege of caring for individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We see their strength, we share in their challenges, and we’re honored to stand beside them. Joining this walk is one more way we can turn that commitment into action.
Why This Walk Matters
Every 65 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease. Nearly 7 million Americans are currently living with it, and one in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Closer to home, more than 162,000 people across Massachusetts and New Hampshire are living with the disease, supported by 261,000 caregivers who devote an extraordinary 323 million hours of unpaid care each year.
Behind every one of these numbers is a person. These are our neighbors, our friends, our family members, and the clients we’re honored to serve. At North River Home Care, we witness firsthand the courage it takes to navigate this journey, and we’re committed to being part of the solution, both in the homes we care for and in the wider community.
Where Your Support for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Goes
Every dollar raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s creates real, lasting change here in our community and beyond. Your generosity helps fund:
- 24/7 Helpline Support: Around-the-clock guidance and reassurance for families navigating the uncertainties of Alzheimer’s, whenever they need it most.
- Local Programs: Support groups, educational workshops, and care consultations offered right here in our own community.
- Groundbreaking Research: Critical advances toward better prevention, more effective treatments, and, ultimately, a cure.
- Care and Support Services: Free resources and programs that bring comfort and clarity to everyone touched by the disease.
The impact adds up quickly. In 2023 alone, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised $100 million nationally, allowing the Alzheimer’s Association to deliver essential services to families while accelerating some of the most promising research happening today.
Let’s Walk Together
There’s real power in showing up together. Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and create a team of your own! Registration is free for every participant, and while there’s no cost to join, we encourage everyone to help raise the critical funds that make this work possible. Whether you complete the full route or simply come to cheer and show your support, your presence truly matters.
Make a Donation
Can’t join us on walk day? You can still make a meaningful difference. Every gift, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. If you’re able, consider setting a fundraising goal along the way. Raising $500 earns you a place in the Champions Club, while $1,000 or more makes you a Grand Champion.
Spread the Word
Awareness is one of the most powerful gifts you can give. Share this cause with your friends, family, and social networks, and help start conversations about Alzheimer’s within your own circles. The more people who know, the greater our collective impact becomes.
We hope you’ll join us in Plymouth on Saturday, October 24th. Together, one step and one conversation at a time, we can help build a future without Alzheimer’s. Let’s walk together.
