Home Care Services in Natick, MA

Compassionate, family-owned in-home care for Natick seniors, from Natick Center to South Natick and West Natick. Our MetroWest office is a few miles east on Route 9 in Wellesley, so help is never far away.

Aging in place in Natick

Natick sits about ten miles west of Boston in the heart of MetroWest, between Framingham to the west and Wellesley to the east. It is home to about 37,000 people, and many older residents have lived here for decades, raised families on these streets, and have no plans to leave.

Population: U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 Census.

Staying home is possible for most people with the right help in place. Our caregivers support Natick seniors with daily routines, meals, errands, companionship, memory care, and around-the-clock care when it is needed.

We have served Natick families since 2007. We know the town, the roads, and how different each neighborhood feels day to day. That is why we build every schedule around the household, not the other way around.

Care that fits each part of Natick

Every neighborhood has its own rhythm. Here is how home care often looks in different parts of town.

Natick Center

Downtown, near the commuter rail

Natick Center is walkable, with shops, the Common, and the commuter rail close by. Clients here often stay active and mainly need companionship, help with errands, and a reliable ride to appointments.

  • Companionship
  • Errands on foot
  • Appointment rides

South Natick

Quieter, along the Charles River

South Natick is quieter and more spread out. Homes are farther from stores and services, so a caregiver's driving, grocery runs, and meal support matter more, especially through a New England winter.

  • Driving and errands
  • Meal preparation
  • Regular check-ins

West Natick

Near Natick Mall and Route 9

West Natick sits close to the Mall and Route 9, with busy roads nearby. Families here often want help getting to shopping and appointments safely, plus support with household routines.

  • Shopping trips
  • Household routines
  • Safe transportation

We also care for families in Walnut Hill, Wethersfield, and every other part of Natick. Not sure how care would work on your street? Call us and we will talk it through.

Very disappointing experience! Especially for a family dealing with dementia! I recently hired this home care company to care for my father, who has vascular dementia. I was contacted by the company because the caregivers were uncomfortable with language my father used while in her care. I was also told that he touched one of the caregivers on the shoulder. ***Let me be very clear: I understand that caregivers deserve to feel safe and comfortable. However, if a company is providing care to someone with DEMENTIA I expect their caregivers to have a basic understanding of how dementia affects the brain and behavior. My father has vascular dementia. He has lost much of the filter and impulse control that he had before his illness. Inappropriate language, impulsive behavior, changes in social boundaries, and can be symptoms of dementia. These behaviors are not necessarily intentional, disrespectful, or something the person can simply "choose" to stop. What concerns me most is that instead of demonstrating an understanding of dementia related behavior and knowing how to appropriately redirect or manage it, the situation was presented to me as though my father was simply behaving inappropriately. That is extremely concerning to me for a home care company! Extremely. If you are caring for someone with dementia, you need caregivers who understand the disease, not caregivers who are going to take dementia related behaviors personally. Families put an enormous amount of trust in home care companies. We are trusting them with our parents when we cannot be there. **Dementia specific training should not be optional**!!! I am sharing this because other families deserve to know what questions to ask before trusting a company with a loved one who has dementia. Ask about their dementia training, how they handle inappropriate language and behaviors, and whether their caregivers actually understand the neurological changes that come with the disease. ****Based on my experience, I do not feel this company was adequately prepared to care for my father, and I would not recommend them to any family looking for knowledgeable dementia care. Please due your due diligence! Stay away from this company.

North River has been so responsive with my parents' care, fine tuning services as needed, and being flexible with changing needs. All of the aides have been kind and caring, especially Kelsey, who has built a strong rapport with my dad -- so grateful to be able to rely on her!

Jen Davis was great to work with scheduling caregivers for our mom. She was responsive to any feedback and requests in a timely manner. This is the difference between North River and other support services. They listen and respond quickly and do their best to find good caregivers that are a good fit with those being cared for. Kathy and Tracey were kind, attentive and hard working!

My wife and I started with North River Home Care back in 2017, and our caregiver Kathy quickly became part of the family. When my wife moved to Memory Care, I kept home care services as much for companionship as help with daily tasks. I've been a client ever since. Visits from Kathy and our Care Advisor, Jen Davis, are something I genuinely look forward to. They are all wonderfully in tune with my needs, and with others here at Linden Ponds too. That personal touch makes all the difference. When Kathy recently went on medical leave, North River stepped right up with an excellent replacement with no drop in quality whatsoever. It's clear they set a very high bar when it comes to hiring. Their caregivers are skilled, well-trained, and you can tell they actually enjoy what they do. North River Home Care is, without question, top notch.

My 94 year old mother returned to her apartment in September 2024 after a fall and time in the hospital and in rehabilitation.    North River Home Care was recommended to us by a person we trusted.  Our experience with North River was excellent from start to finish.  Management was highly responsive, from our first call, and constantly monitored my mother's care.  The aides who were with my mother were all caring, and did a terrific job helping my mother maintain her dignity while assisting with necessary details of life.  My mother responded to this support and gradually grew stronger.  With time we were able to slowly reduce aides services from 24 hours daily to the point that no further assistance was required.  Over a month has passed since then and my mother continues to do very well.  This recovery was in great part the fruit of the caring help and gentle assistance North River provided to her, bringing her back to pretty much as she was and once again walking long distances (no not running but she never did).  .  We are all extremely happy with the support she received from North River for which we remain most grateful.

After our father had experienced multiple hospital stays, we wanted to avoid another rehab facility. We decided to move him back into his assisted living community with a 24hr caregiver. Jen Davis was compassionate and easy to work with. The caregivers were all wonderful, especially Cheryl and Dourina. We used NRHC for 3 weeks and highly recommend this team to other families looking for 24hr care.
Working with Jen Davis at North River has been an amazing experience. They were very helpful and made sure to meet my mom‘s needs and to accommodate her schedule. She really enjoyed her caregiver. Thank you!

The North River Team was excellent while dealing with my parents care. Our Care Advisor Mia met with us and went over all they can do and gave me frequent updates. The home aids were wonderful in dealing with my mother who can be difficult and helped my Dad run errands as well as with hygiene and self-care. When the time comes for more help with my parents home care we will definitely be contacting North River Home Care.

Hiring North River Home Care came at a difficult time. My wife was dying and came home in hospice care. Having good and reliable Home Care assistance was essential to providing round the clock attendance at my wife's bedside. Julia Hawkins was North River's Client Service Manager. She was attentive and helpful describing how Home Care would work when we met in our living room. She was easy to reach by phone subsequently. My wife's home stay lasted two days. The North River Home Care team was here when my wife arrived from the hospital and there were three sequential aides with my wife at all times. My wife died the next day while Luisa, North River's Home Care aide, was caring for her. After the hospice nurse left Luisa provided the care my wife needed allowing my sons, her sister, and me time to sit and grieve together. Luisa was extraordinary. She was there but sensitive to our time and place at my wife's bedside. Luisa's experience and knowledge about care and dying were invaluable. After my wife had died and we had said our good byes Luisa prepared her for the undertakers and allowed us time to be with her for the last time. While our time with North River Home Care was very short, the care and service were necessary, important, and very helpful. I would recommend anyone looking for this kind of support to reach out to North River Home Care.
